Yvette Banda
Yvette Banda
Academic Coach

Mrs. Yvette Banda joined the Mercedes ISD family in 2013 which granted her the privilege of serving the students and teachers at Ruben Hinojosa Elementary. With twenty years of experience in the field of education both as a classroom teacher and as an administrator, she has grown a deep passion for curriculum and instruction. She feels a strong conviction to equip and empower teachers in their content areas in order to ensure that students are given every opportunity to be successful. Ms. Banda believes that if she can contribute to instilling a sense of urgency in identifying and meeting the academic needs of students, and if the entire village works together, everyone will succeed. Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be. - Rita Pierson
